Dallas Frederick Miller, Jr., a native of Kahoka, MO and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Monday, April 1, 2019 at the age of 78. Dallas was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide Football team and the Chicago Cubs, and enjoyed hanging out with his friends at Patches. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas Frederick Miller, Sr. and Betty Lou Gardner Miller; his wife, Mary Margaret Deane Miller; and his sister, Kay. His survivors include his fiancee’ and caregiver, Jacqueline Mur Benson; three sons, Mike Miller, Mark Miller and Jimi Miller; numerous grandchildren; step-daughter, Leah Brehony; step-son, Lee Benson; special friend, Debbie Wilson; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. William Burtt, will be held Friday, April 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday beginning at 12:00 Noon. Serving as active pallbearers will be Mark Welborn, Liam Brehony, Jay Batson, Frank Graham, Larry Nelson and Mike Pelman. Honorary pallbearers will include his “harem”, Mur Benson, Janet Anderson, Karen Elliott, Stacey Welborn, Paula Motykiewicz, Leah Brehony, Beth Cones and Tee George. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dallas’ name to the American Red Cross or the SPCA. Please dress casual and gather for a celebration of Dallas’ life at Patches Lounge immediately following the funeral service. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
