Betsy Bratton Booker Henson died peacefully at her home on October 19, 2018, after a lengthy illness.
She was born September 22, 1932, in Franklin, KY, and was a longtime resident of Mobile and Baldwin County, AL. Betsy’s life revolved around her family and her church, Old Spanish Trail Baptist. She was a 1949 graduate of Murphy High School.
Her survivors include her children, Diane Newell Daily (James), David Thomas Newell, Edgar Carey Henson (Sherri), Lawrence Scott Henson (Karen); 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edgar Clement Henson; her son, Andrew Clement Henson; her parents, Thomas Laurence Booker and Margaret Law Booker Harris; and her sister, Laurie Booker Brown.
The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Monday, October 22, 2018 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Graveside services and interment will follow at 2:00 PM in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mrs. Henson’s name be made to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
