Marion moved to Mobile around the age of 20 where she lived the rest of her life. She worked at the Alabama State Unemployment Office and retired from Alabama Dry dock and shipbuilding. Her nickname was “Tiger Tew”.
She was proceeded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Joseph H Tew Jr., and her second husband, Boyd Clyde Cooper.
She is survived by her children, Martha Tew Ethridge, Charles “Bubba” (Toni Tetley) Tew, Jennifer Cooper Johnson, and Ronnie Cooper. Six grandchildren, Erin (Jody) Clements, Marci (Mike) Freeman, Monica (Brent) Williams, Scott Johnson, Regina Johnson (Terry) Lapeyrouse, Holly Lewis (Christopher) Collins. 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. One sister, Mildred (Wiley) Falks of Pascagoula, MS. Two brothers, Charles (Maggie) Rigney, and Thomas (Duple) Rigney, both of Waynesboro, MS. And a great host of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Alabama Hospice for the excellent care given to their mother, and a special thank you to Karen, Dani, and Dee. Also they would love to send a special thank you to the wonderful sitters Tricia, Jerry, Melissa, and Myrtle for all their loving care of “granny” over the last three years.
Marion had a strong love of our Lord and was always there to help any way she could. She loved her family with unconditional love and was a wonderful mother and loving grandmother. She will be missed by many people.

My heartfelt condolences for your loss. Please find comfort in the knowledge that God promises to put an end to all the things that have plagued mankind for centuries including pain, suffering and death (Revelation 21:3,4).
