George W. Chavers at the age of 92 passed away on May 23, 2019. He was born in Prichard, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. Following his release from the military he worked for Aradmac in Productions Control and Modification at Brookley Field in Mobile, Alabama and upon closing transferred to N.A.S. Base in Corpus Christi, Texas. He then transferred to Pensacola, Florida where he retired, while residing in Irvington, Alabama.
He will lay to rest in Mobile, Alabama beside his loving wife Vivian Ardell Wainwright. He is survived by his son and two daughters: “James” Eddie Huber from Theodore, Alabama; Vickie Martello from New Orleans, Louisiana; and, Sharon O’Brien from Corpus Christi, Texas. Six grandchildren: Jason Roberts from Pennsylvania; Jenine Hamberger and Jeremy Roberts from Gretna, Louisiana; Sharina O’Brien, Shauna O’Brien-Vela and, Marissa Compton from Corpus Christi, Texas. Thirteen great-grandchildren.
George (Billie) always tried to help others. He was held in the highest regard by all he knew. His children will miss his humor, his laughter, his love, and most of all they will never forget the sacrifices he made for so many. We love you daddy! Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 12 noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation starts at 10 am. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
