Donald “Perry” Andrews, age 62, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, after a short stay hoping for a heart transplant. Perry was born on May 23, 1957, in Mobile, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Donald Andrews and Virginia Arlene Burkett Andrews. He is survived by his brother, Kyle (Kellie) Andrews; his two nieces, Kalyn Andrews and Kerry Andrews; beloved aunt, Marion Hargett; and many other family members and friends.Perry worked for Mobile Infirmary Medical Center for over 30 years as a surgical supply manager. He went on disability years ago after being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. He was dedicated to taking care of his father post stroke for over 14 years until his dad passed away last month. He adored his nieces and always told them how much he loved them. They were his “sweet nieces”. He loved going to Disney World, especially with them, and they loved riding his favorite ride, Haunted Mansion, together. He was a huge Alabama football fan and gave new meaning to the word fanatic. Although he was unable to attend games for years, he enjoyed watching Bama football with his dad. He was an avid reader and loved checking out books from the library and sharing them with his brother, Kyle. He had a special way of lighting up a room with laughter and that is how he will be remembered.The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for Tuesday evening, December 3, 2019, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
