Argie Brown

Argie Solomon Brown, a native of Georgianna, Alabama and longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at the age of 95. Argie began work as an operator for Bell Telephone Company in Evergreen, AL and retired after 35 years as switch board supervisor for South Central Bell in Mobile, Alabama. She was a faithful member of Cypress Shores Baptist Church, where she served for 30 years as Senior Adult Director. She loved serving in her church and spending quality time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Leila Fussell Solomon; husband, Billy G Brown; one sister, Margie Solomon and two brothers, Ford and Ray Solomon.

She is survived by two sisters, Bobbie Solomon (Frank) Mothershed and Margaret (Dan) Dure; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday September 13 at 12:00 pm from the chapel at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will take place in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
