Bennie Thomas Wood, a native of Shorter, AL and longtime resident of Semmes, AL passed away Monday, April 20, 2015. Mr. Wood spent his life building homes for others; now he will spend eternity in a home that was built just for him by his Savior. He worked in the Mobile, AL area as a brick mason for 60 years and took pride in his work. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Birdie H. Wood; his three children, Denise Wood (Larry) Sowell; Bennie Joe (Lori) Wood and Judy Wood (Jimmy) Bragg; two brothers, Charles Wood, Parker (Peggy) Wood and Juanita Wood Martin; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
