Bernice Snipes Madden, a native of Moundville, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the age of 79. She was a longtime employee of Rousso's Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Milton Snipes and Retha Venetta Johnson Snipes; her husband, James Allen Madden; her son, Kevin Madden; one sister, Nancy Pierce; and her brother, Benny Snipes. Her survivors include one daughter, Susan Madden Mills; seven sons, Charles C. "Chris" (Nancy) Pierce, Dale (Michelle) Pierce, Tim (Leigh) Pierce, Keith (Teresa) Madden, Kent Madden, Kim (Lucille) Madden and Kasey Madden; one sister, Donna Jo (Rick) Patrick; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Brother R. C. Butler, will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening June 20, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
