Betty Sullivan

Betty Doris Sullivan was born on November 22, 1930 in Chattanooga, TN and passed away on January 28, 2016 in Mobile, AL where she had lived for most of her life. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Ruby Hudson and Alvin Broome; her sisters, Margaret Firth and Hazel McKenzie; her nephew, Charles Firth; her first husband, Dee Williams, and her second husband, John Sullivan.
For many years, Betty worked in banking and retail where she enjoyed greeting the public and making new friends. She loved Middle Eastern and Asian culture and enjoyed making art, especially painting, and ceramics. Betty loved animals, and had many pets over the years, including small dogs and parakeet birds. She was a strong Christian and a longtime member of Sage Avenue Methodist Church. Betty is survived by her nephew, Travis McKenzie (Dianne) of Birmingham; her nieces, Lynda Firth Raines of Richmond, VA and Susan Lanoux of Northport, AL; a great-nephew, Patrick Raines of Nashville, TN; a great-niece, Madison Cleckler, of Birmingham; other relatives and caring friends. The family will receive friends Monday, February 1, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 10:00 AM in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
