Beverly "Sue" Williams Callahan, 80, of Semmes, AL went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
Beverly "Sue" Williams Callahan grew up in Mobile, Al, Sue attended Bishop Toolen High School. Sue had a great love of animals, especially horses, her entire life. Growing up Sue enjoyed riding and showing horses, spending time at Braswell's Stables and The Bit & Spur, especially trail riding in Clark County at her parents farm, her favorite place in the world. Sue was also a talented artist and loved to paint. She met the love of her life, Glenn Callahan, and the two were married in 1960. During Sue and Glenn's life journey together, they lived in Gulfport, MS, Vicksburg, MS, Pensacola, FL, Mobile, AL, Monroe, LA, and Carthage, TX, before returning home to Semmes, AL in 1994.
She attended Wilmer Baptist Church participating in Bible study groups, hospitality (working in the kitchen) and taking her sister Brenda on many of the church sponsored senior trips over the years. Sue loved baking and delighted many lucky folks with her famous pecan pies and delicious cakes. She enjoyed time spent at the beach with her sister, shopping trips with her friends, and her ladies lunch group.
Sue is preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Estelle Dean Williams; father, Algie T. Williams; brother, Hadley Dean Butcher.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn B Callahan; sister, Brenda B. Stuart; daughter, Charlotte C Betar (Joe); grandsons, Joshua Harris, Zachary Betar (Natasha), Christopher Betar; great granddaughter, Francis Olivia Betar; nieces and nephews, Randy Stuart (Laura), Chris Stuart, Brad Stuart (Denise), Terry King (Wayne), Steven Callahan, Robert Callahan (Katie), Christy C Burnett.
Her family will celebrate her life with a funeral service on Saturday February 10, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. A visitation will begin one hour prior.
