Carmen Ruth Polk Moore, Jackson, MS native and Walnut Grove resident, passed away August 6, 2026.

Mrs. Moore and her husband moved to Walnut Grove after retirement to enjoy their new ventures running a chicken farm for 15 years. She could easily be found most times whipping up a batch of her blueberry muffins, tending to her rescue animals and tuning in to televised church services on Sundays. She had a passion for Merle Norman Make-up and all things blingy, She enjoyed krispy crème donuts, Andy Griffith, and more recently, the Madea series. Her caring love, warmth, and the sweet sound of greeting, “Hey Honey!” will be deeply missed by those who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reggie Ray Polk and Carmen Elsie Gamble Polk.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 50 years, Charles R. Moore; daughter, Carmen Sue (James Sutherland) Moore; grandchildren, Tyler Matthew (Cydnie) Reed, Jonathan Vaniel (Raigan Litteral ) Wheeler, Jr., Dawson Lane Wheeler, Gaven Glenn Owens, and Khloe Addisen Carmen Owens; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Amelia Reed; other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
