Christopher Scott Byrd, 51, went to be with his heavenly father on July 11, 2026. He was born in Mobile, AL to his parents, Mildred Hoxworth and the late Donnie Byrd.
Chris was known for his kind, loving and outgoing heart. He was known for his love for the outdoors, kind to everyone he met and served as a father figure to many. He was passionate about his career at Cretin Townsend Homes. He was a member of Bay Family Church in Grand Bay, AL. He leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Charlotte Stephanie Byrd.
Chris loved the Lord with all of his heart and the family is thankful that he is now at the feet of Jesus. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the extended family, friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father Donnie Byrd, his grandmother Asilene Touchstone, and Addie Bogan Byrd, Grandfather Grady Touchstone and John Byrd, as well as Austin Dueitt his Son.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie Byrd, his children, Kayla (Alex) Clark, Kahlee (Cody) Carraway, Nikki (Trey) Williams, Zack (Taylor) Dueitt, Jonathan Byrd and his Fiance Lynnley Driskell, and Emily Byrd. His beloved grandchildren, Easton,Gunner, Clayton, Case, Camilla, Grayson, Beau, Levi, and Parker. His mother, Mildred(Rick) Hoxworth.His siblings, Donna Byrd, Tracy Byrd, Paula (Mark) Walker, Hugh(Lisa)Byrd, A dear friend who was more like a brother, David(Decia) Nichols, and several other close friends who are like brothers to him. They all loved him dearly.
Pall Bearers: Randy Collins, Turner Collins, David Nichols, Bubba Ott, Eric Mendenhall, Cater Mendenhall, Hugh Byrd, Philip Armstrong.
A funeral service will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, a visitation will be held Thursday July 16, 2026, family will receive friends between 5PM through 8PM, services will resume on Friday July 17,2026 with a public visitation starting at 1PM, and a chapel service starting at 2PM. Interment will immediately follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
