David Bell

July 18, 1951 — September 25, 2025

David Allen Bell, age 74, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2025. He was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, and was the son of Maurice Glenn Bell and Lois Richards Bell who both preceded him in death. He is survived by two sisters: Beverly Anne Bell Gros and Bonita Kay Bell Hall; five nieces, one nephew, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

David was a graduate of WP Davidson High School class of 1969, where he played the clarinet in the marching band. He also graduated from the University of South Alabama with a degree in math and minor in chemistry. Upon graduation, he began his career as a systems analyst for Bell South Telephone Company and later continued his job with Accenture where he wrote and implemented computer programs for payroll deductions for employee benefits. After 31 years of employment in Birmingham and Atlanta, he retired on disability and returned to Mobile.

David was a faithful child of God as a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, Rehobeth Baptist Church in Atlanta, and Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Mobile. At each church, he was a member of the choir and served at the ROC at CHBC.

A viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Rd., Mobile, Alabama. The funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
