David B. Hudson, 75, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 17, 2025. Born on September 30, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA, to Alfred and Elizabeth Hudson, David's life was marked by his deep faith and devotion to God. At the age of 15, during a camp service on April 27, 1964, he trusted Christ as his Savior and answered God's call to preach-setting the course for a lifetime of ministry and service.

On February 25, 1971, David married his beloved wife, Gail Shunk, beginning a beautiful journey of love, faith, and devotion. Together they raised four children and served the Lord wholeheartedly, touching countless lives through their dedication to God's work.

David graduated from Tennessee Temple University in 1977 and Seminary in 1979, and spent his life faithfully serving the Lord in ministry. He pastored several churches throughout the years, including Calvary Baptist Tabernacle (Curwensville, PA), Cornatzer Baptist Church (Mocksville, NC), Riverland Baptist Church (Dunnellon, FL), and Cloverleaf Baptist Church (Mobile, AL). He also served as assistant pastor at Hamilton Acres Baptist Church (Fairbanks, AK), Seagate Baptist Church (Naples, FL), and West Side Baptist Church (York, PA). While in college, he sang with The Singing Men of Temple and served in ministry alongside Strongman Evangelist Paul Wrenn, providing special music.

A hardworking man with unshakable faith, David loved preaching, singing, and pointing others to Jesus. Even in declining health, he made it a priority to share gospel tracts wherever he went. His life reflected his deep love for the Lord and for his family.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Hudson, and his sisters, Peggy Sluder and Carol Blackwell. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gail Shunk Hudson; four children: Melissa Smith (Joe), Holly Tamang, April Griffin, and Paul Hudson (Christy). He was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, with another on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Fred Hudson (Sharon), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

A Celebration of Life service honoring David will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Air Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
