Deanna Johnson Ladnier - Smith

Deanna Lee Johnson Ladnier-Smith born August 27,1964, and passed away February 12, 2024, at the age of 59. She passed peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones after a battle with lung cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joyce (Harrison) and Nicholas "Marvin" Johnson as well as a niece, Sherry Darlene Wilderbrandt. Deanna is survived by her spouse Wendy Smith, children Connie (Rodger) Kelley, Nicholas (Misty) Ladnier, and her bonus child Christy Robinson. She was a loving grandmother to Savannah (Landon) Deakle and great-grandmother to Essie and Allison Deakle. Sisters include Nickie (Bill) Kern and Lindy (Irvin) Gazzier. She is loved and remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

"Dee" graduated from Peter F. Alba High School in 1981. She loved participating with Special Olympics as a mentor with Flo (Reevelon) Thompson as well as vacationing with dear friends Joe Baker and Russell Wilson. Her summers were spent kayaking with her family and friends in Milton, Florida.

Pallbearers include Nicholas Ladnier, Trenton Gazzier, Gregory Hendricks, Irvin Gazzier, Landon Deakle, Jonathan Kern and honorary Bill Kern.

The family would like to thank USA Providence Hospital and staff for the amazing care during such a difficult time.
