Donald Edward Thompson, a native of Birmingham, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL died on Monday. He was a member of Local 119, Plumbers and Steamfitters, Past Master of Spring Hill Lodge # 896 F&AM, US Army Veteran and a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his son, Leslie Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Sonja Thompson; two children, Don (Erica) Thompson and Tonya (Robby) McGuff; six grandchildren, Don, Matthew, Beth, Todd, Justin and Katelyn; five great grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 12 noon. Visitation will start at 10:30 am. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens with Military and Masonic Services. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
