Dorothy Barnes

Dorothy Aline Barnes, a longtime resident of Irvington, AL, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born November 14, 1943 in Bayou La Batre, AL.

She was a faithful member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church of Bayou La Batre, AL. She enjoyed spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. Playing bingo was her favorite thing to do to pass her time.

Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by; her husband of 58 years, Richard Leon Barnes; parents, Charles and Matilda Cain; sisters, Mildred Stork, Ann Barnes, Doris (TeTe) Waldron, Marcella Nelson, Margarite McQuaid, and her brother Charles (Junior) Cain.

Dorothy is survived by; her children, Richelle (Russell) Harbison, Ellen (Ralph) Steele, Richard (Karla) Barnes, Dana (Ashley) Johnson, Johnny Barnes, and Ladonna Seaman; her brother, Paul Cain; 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services for Dorothy Barnes will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at St. Margaret Catholic Church at 12 P.M. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service at St. Margaret Catholic Church from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M.
