Mr. Douglas Artis Gilliland better known as (Pop), 83 years of age -- A native of Billingsley, AL and resident of Mobile since 1981, passed away peacefully in a local hospital on Sunday, June 22, 2026. Pop was a was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tillman's Corner.

Pop is preceded in death by; his wife, Earline (Nana)Pierce Gilliland; parents, Myrtis (Big Mama) Gilliland, and Artis (Big Daddy) Gilliland; his siblings, J.C. Gilliland, Terry Gilliland, and Linda Headly.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Missy (Michael) Underwood; son, J. D. (Daphne) Gilliland; one sister, Sherry Ray; one brother, Roy Gilliland; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Sam) Howard, Jamie Gilliland, Meagan Underwood and Tyler (Bryleigh) Underwood; one great grandchild, Hyland Grace Howard; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Gilliland, Tyler Underwood, Rusty Simmons, Joey Simmons, Robbie Gilliland and Daniel Gilliland.
