2 Timothy 4:7
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:”
Edison Clarence Scott, Jr. was born on April 5, 1936, to the late Edison Clarence Scott, Sr. and the late Sylvia Scott in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama until the Lord called him from labor to reward on Monday, July 21, 2025, 6:36 a.m...
Brother Scott completed his course and walked the golden path peacefully to reside with his Heavenly Father permanently. We give thanks for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for his transition from the boundaries of earth to the realm of Heaven. His departure was quick and painless. With his granddaughter Chardonnay Scott with him.
He was united in marriage to Helen Marie Scott for 58 years and from this union, they were the loving parents of the late Anthony Scott, Sr. Previously he was married to the late Ernestine Travis Scott and from this loving union two children were born Dennis & the late Angie Scott.
Brother Scott accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a longtime member of the Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Mobile Alabama. “Scottie” was a God-fearing man who truly loved the Lord. He loved being a part of his Sunday School class studying and learning God’s word.
“Scottie” or “Bunny” as he was affectionately called, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, eating, watching movies, making others laugh, fishing, and was dedicated to his exercise regimen and walking until his illness impacted him. “Scottie” loved talking about the goodness of God.
In high school he was known as one of the best running backs, and from there he joined the military. He went up the ranks to staff sergeant, then decided he wanted to be a pilot. He had to become an officer which he did with flying colors. He served in Viet Nam and Korea just to name a few. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer with 23 years in the United States Army, serving as helicopter pilot. While serving in the military as a helicopter pilot, “Scottie” received many honorary awards like flight safety awards, complimentary awards, and Pilot Proficiency Wings. He was an outstanding leader.
He also retired after a 20-year career as a helicopter pilot from Chevron Oil Industry.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: His son Dennis (Cynthia) Scott, His Daughter-n-law Charlotte Scott, His 5 grandchildren Chardonnay Scott, Anthony Scott, Jr, Malia Dean, Melissa Scott and Kayla Scott and 2 great grandchildren Ca’marii Brown, Carliegh Andry and a host of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his Parents Edison C. Scott, Sr. and Sylvia Scott, His Wife Helen M. Scott and his son Anthony Scott, Sr. and daughter Angie Scott.
A chapter has ended; a page turned; a life well lived
And a rest well earned.
