Edwin Phillips, age 95, passed from this life to his heavenly home, February 8, 2022. Edwin was born in Lakewell, Florida on January 7, 1927 and resided in Theodore. Alabama.
He was a graduate of Bay Minette High School. He served honorably during World War II with the Merchant Marines. Later, Edwin was employed as a supervisor for the Mobile City Garage for thirty-nine years. He and his wife loved to travel in their motor home. They traveled extensively across the United States and into Canada. Edwin loved the Lord and he loved to help others.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents James Arthur Phillips and Verta King Phillips-Mingus, daughter Diane Stephens, grandson Blake Stephens and son-in-law Nelson Coleman. He leaves behind to mourn, his wife of 74 years, Lucille Rodgers Phillips; daughter, Brenda Coleman; grandson, Jeffery Stephens and great-grandson, Ryan Saxon.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 3 to 4 p. m. at Mobile Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery in Foley, Alabama.
