Elizabeth Ann McDowell Jackson, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the age of 79. Mrs. Jackson started high school in Matawan, NJ, graduated from South Broward High School in Hollywood, FL and Providence Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She loved her profession and enjoyed many years of caring for others. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Leo McDowell, Sr. and Mary Catherine Mangold Richards; her brother, William Leo “Billy” McDowell, Jr. and the love of her life, her husband, Ernest Eugene Jackson, Sr. Her survivors include her son, Charles Hudson Moore, III; her daughter, Melissa Ann Jackson; two sisters, Mary Catherine “Cathy” Barter and Helen McDowell (Erich) Ulm; her brother, Robert (Carma) McDowell; five grandchildren, Gregory Scott (Jodi) Moore, Janice Loretta Moore, Zachary Cea Lombard, Ashton Blaine Worrell and Baylee Nicole Worrell; three great-grandchildren, Avacyn Nicole Migues, Everleigh Rae Beersdorf and Charles Denton Carter, IV; other relatives and friends.
