Esther Mae Worrell Sheppard was born October 23, 1934. She was the third of four children to Johnnie Edger Worrell and Lillie Mae (Taylor) Worrell of Mobile, Alabama. She died in Theodore, Alabama on January 20, 2017. She was employed at Bellingrath Gardens and Home until retirement. She married Billy Fred Sheppard in 1952 and they were married until his death in 1991. She is survived by her sister Jonnie Faye Lamb of Huntsville, Alabama; her three daughters Sandy Potts, Angie (Eric) Melton, Sam (Tony) Pirkle; her son Freddy (Faye) Sheppard; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 10:00 at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include Eric Melton, Terry Potts, Jason Potts, Luke Ferguson, Mike Sanspree, and Tony Pirkle. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
