Frances Ruth Janus, age 88, passed away peacefully in Grand Bay, AL on September 6, 2024. She was born in Hammond, IN on December 4, 1935, to Francis and Veronica Bradtke. Frances grew up in Chicago where she attended St. Hedwig School and graduated high school from Holy Family Academy. She married Edward "Babe" Janus in 1955. She worked as a secretary for many years before retiring to Henderson, Nevada. Frances loved socializing with her late husband, participating in church activities and served proudly as the vice president of the gardening club in Buffalo Grove in her younger years. She was a competitive bingo and slot machine player, a fan of Wheel of Fortune, and lover of chocolate. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Janus was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Bradtke, and John and Veronica Stumbris as well as her loving husband, Edward "Babe" Janus.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cynthia (William) Schaeffer, Alan Janus, and Patricia (Anthony) Muldrow; grandchildren, Nicole Muldrow, Jessica (Gregory) Leutwyler, Zachary Muldrow, Alison Muldrow, Jason (Angel) Janus, Danielle (Maximilian) Meischke, and Andrew (Mariah) Janus; 2 great- grandchildren; brother, Anthony (Debbie) Stumbris; other relatives and many friends.
We would also like to thank all of the many caregivers at the Grand Bay Convalescent Home for their countless hours of loving care they provided Frances and her family these past couple of years.
