Fred Coxwell

March 3, 1927 — March 25, 2023

Fred Augusta Coxwell passed away at his home in Mobile on March 25th, 2023. Fred lived a long, loving and fulfilling life alongside his late wife, Joyce. The couple was married for 75 joyous years and traveled everywhere together. Fred and Joyce Coxwell were active members of Woodridge Baptist Church where he reigned as the oldest member to attend the church. Fred was a proud veteran who served in the Navy during World War II as well as the Army during the Korean War. He was also the oldest living descendant of William Barret Travis who was the Texas commander at the Battle of the Alamo. Fred is preceded in death by his loving wife Joyce Coxwell, his daughter Glenda Herrington,his parents George Edward Coxwell and Mary Fronie Travis Coxwell, and his brothers Lee and Eugene Coxwell. He is survived by his son and daughter in law Freddie and Carolyn Coxwell, granddaughters Amy and Raven Coxwell, great grand child Avery Coxwell and many other family and friends. Fred loved and treasured being around his family and friends and we will miss him dearly.
