George Duey Lester

April 25, 1932 — March 24, 2026

George Duey Lester, a resident of Tanner Williams, Alabama for over 60 years, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Mae Lester; his parents, Ruth Bodiford Lester and Duey Lee Lester; his sisters: Louise Lester Church, Sarah Lester McMullan, Ruby Lee Lester Willett, and Frances Lester Kendrick; and his grandson, Raymond Lee Lester.

Mr. Lester is survived by his brother, Robert Lester; his daughter, Rebecca Lester; and his son, George Lester, Jr. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Chad May, Jacob May, and Daniel Lester; five great-grandchildren: Chad "LC" May, Garrett Lester, Kayla May, Justin Lester, and Collin May; and three great-great-grandchildren: Cayleigh May, Stetson Estes, and Chad May III. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly.

George was a devoted husband and was well known for the close relationships he shared with his extended family, including his in-laws Robert, Lester, Jim, Johnny, Bernita, Bootsie, and Luci. He cherished the many vacations and memories they created together.

He will be remembered for his exceptional carpentry skills, his creativity in arts and crafts, and his passion for gardening - especially his love of flowers, which brought him great joy throughout his life.

The family will have a graveside service on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Joyner Cemetery, 14595 Tanner Williams Road, Alabama.
