Georgette Sharretts Brocato, age 93, died on Friday, November 7, 2025, after a courageous ten-year battle with dementia. She was born in 1931, and grew up in Foley, Alabama. Georgette attended City Nursing School in Mobile, where she received recognition for the highest-grade point average and for being the best bedside nurse. Her dedicated and generous nursing career was spent at Mobile City Hospital, Providence Hospital, and Knollwood Hospital. Her last nursing position was as a hospice nurse for Mercy Medical Hospice. During her career, Georgette volunteered her nursing services at the local Coast Guard Base. She also volunteered several years at Little Flower and St. Dominic Schools.

They were blessed with three children: Barbara Marie, Daria Ann, and Vincent Joseph, III. Georgette leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Vince; her daughters: Barbara Brocato and Daria Brocato; her brother, Donald Sharretts (Jeanmarie); her sister-in-law, Sister Maria Vincent Brocato, SCN; her Aunt Josephine Schulte, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents: George and Clara Sharretts, her in-laws: Vincent and Pauline Brocato; her sister, Clara Margurette Sharretts; and her son, Vincent J. Brocato III.

Special thanks to Saads Hospice for their dedicated nurses and staff who assisted us in caring for Georgette for the last four and a half years. We are also grateful to her health care workers, Missy Alexander and April Rogers, who patiently took care of Georgette in our home for the last several years. We want to thank Kay Rehm, Father Pat Driscoll, and Brenda Christian for their ongoing spiritual support.
