Gloria Jean Taylor, age 85, a resident of Grand Bay, Alabama, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026. Jean, as she was called by friends and family, was born December 30, 1940, in Mobile, AL. She was the youngest sibling with 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Her large family remained very close throughout her life, often gathering together to share meals and laughter. Her husband Charles spotted her by a chance encounter and was immediately smitten. They married in April of 1963 and recently celebrated their 63rd year of marriage. They spent several years in Baton Rouge and Metairie, but Grand Bay would become the home they loved and shared for more than 35 years.

Jean was a fabulous cook and was known for her special talent with Creole and Cajun dishes. She was also known for her beautiful home and flair for decorating. Her sense of style was perhaps most evident in her personal appearance. Known by family and friends to always have the best hair and brightest smile, in every situation.

Jean was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt who will be missed by all that knew her. As a member of First Presbyterian Church of Grand Bay, she had a strong Christian faith and loved worship and fellowship with fellow church members.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Cora Keevan; brothers, Buddy Keevan, Clarence Keevan, Billy Keevan and Jimmy Keevan, and sisters; Elizabeth Noble, Helen Estes, and Margaret Wilson.

Jean is survived by her husband Charles, the love of her life, sister-in-law, Willie K. Keevan; nieces, Terri Hare, Tessie Johnson, Sheila Keevan, Tammy Keevan, Nancy Blackman, Kelly Ramanauskas and Jackie Swann; nephews, Paul Duff, Dale Estes, Bill Keevan, Eddie Keevan, Mike Keevan and Ricky Wilson. She was also loved and treasured by her husband's family, and too many friends to count.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. With visitation held prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
