Obituary

Harry Kenneth Godbold born March 14, 1942 in Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026. Kenny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by faith, hardwork, dedication to family and a love for the water. He was a proud graduate from McGill Institute in 1960. Kenny married his childhood sweetheart Jean December 30, 1961. Together they built a loving family and shared more than six decades of marriage, creating countless memories with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Throughout his life he was employed for 33 years with Scott Paper Company and was the vice president of Gulf Tomato Company, a business founded by his father, Archie Godbold. Kenny's faith was a guiding force throughout his life where he was a devoted member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Outside of his faith and work he was an avid sailor and a skilled wood worker whose craftsmanship displayed his patience, talents and attention to detail. More than any hobbies Kenny cherished spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Kenneth Godbold and Willie Mae Godbold. Kenny is survived by his beloved wife of more than 64 years, Beverly Jean Godbold; his children, Scott Godbold(Hope), Lori Newell (Scott, and Julie Withers(Joseph); His grandchildren Kendall (Caitlin), Kyle, Lauren (Michael), Matthew (Charli), Kody, Ava, Will; and his great grandchildren Caroline, Matthew Jr., Mckenzie, Kenneth, Collins; his sisters Martha Rayford (the late Sonny), and Patricia Smithweck (William). Kenny's legacy continues to live on through his family he loved so deeply and the countless lives he touched throughout his years.

A funeral Service will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday June 26, 2026. The family will receive friends at 9 am, a chapel service starting at 10am. internment will immediately follow.
