Helen Augusta Driskell Gatchel, a longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Friday, September 22, 2017 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rossie Jennings Driskell and Helen Maudice Fletcher Driskell; her husband, Francis Charles Gatchel, Sr., three daughters, Karen Gatchel, Marla Felix and Patricia Ann List; one son, Francis Charles Gatchel, Jr.; two brothers, Otto Driskell and Earl Driskell and one sister, Anna Young. Her survivors include five children, Joan (Tommy) Simmons, Jacquelyn (Gary) White, Cheryl Todorov, Bruce Gatchel and Beverly (Art) Lami; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Spence and Remola Morris; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
