Helen Jones

It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our mother Helen Jones on Wednesday, April 23. Mom had been in assisted living for almost 2 years until she developed fluid in her lungs and was hospitalized. Upon leaving the hospital Helen spent about two weeks in hospice care at the home of her daughter Debbie Johnson.

Born in 1932 Helen lived her entire life in Mobile Alabama. After graduating from Murphy High School in 1950 she married Bobby Neal .They had five children together. She was widowed in 1970. Helen met and married Curney R Jones in 1973. Bringing up her children , Helen was involved in Cub scouts,, Garden club and PTA. She later spent several years working for MARC in mobile, which she enjoyed very much.

Helen leaves behind four children, calling her Deborah Johnson, James Neal , (Cindy)Daniel Neal, and Joanna Hurley (Neil) stepson Donald Jones

Grandchildren who called her MiMi, include Michele Goddard (Jeff), Melanie Jones(Mark), and Marcie McCardle (Brian), Jennifer Burris , Christopher Ricci (Christian), Michael Dominguez Jr, Christopher Ricci (Christian), Rachel Burk(Christian), James Jones (Alisha ), Jamie Thomas (Seth), Elizabeth (Mike) Bradley Schell and Ellery Schell,

Helen also leaves behind 19 precious great grandchildren, and four beautiful, great-great grandchildren.

Preceeding Helen in death was her Mother, Nellie Nelson ,-husbands Robert E. Neal, father, Curney R. Jones, her dear son, Thomas E. Neal, grandson, Christopher Jones and daughter in law Judy Jones.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 from the chapel of Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 2pm. Visitation will be 1pm until service time Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
