Helen Wilson

Helen Patricia "Pat" Hudson Wilson, age 93, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Brandon, Mississippi, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Pat was born in Bagdad, Florida, and was raised in Panama City, Florida. Pat graduated from Bay County High School in Panama City, and soon met the love of her life, Prentiss Wilson, who was stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base. They chose to stay in Panama City after Prentiss was discharged from the Air Force, where they raised their two children.

Pat and Prentiss eventually moved to Mobile, Alabama, and later relocated to Richardson, Texas, and then returned to Mobile. Pat retired from Sears, where she had worked in Florida, Alabama, and then retired from the regional office in Dallas, Texas, before returning to Mobile.

Pat was a woman of faith and lived her life as a true believer in Christianity. She was an adult women's Sunday school teacher for over 55 years beginning in Florida, Alabama, Texas, and then back to Alabama.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents: Cernal Heyward Hudson and Nellie Mae Smith Hudson; her sister: Elizabeth Hudson Hesselton; and her twin brothers: George Edward Hudson and James Ellis Hudson. She is survived by her two children: Gene L. Wilson (Sue), and Kaye Wilson Hart (Bill); a step-granddaughter, two step-great granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, Alabama. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a burial immediately following the service. Pat will be laid to rest at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Prentiss.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Pat.
