Ian Luke Jones passed away at home on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Dixie Jones and Joanne Myers, and his great-grandparents, Harry and Betty McDavid. He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Libby Jones, his brother Jonathan Jones (Rebecca Doss), and Ian's love, Jordan Marx, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Ian was a very talented musician who earned a bachelor's degree in music at the University of South Alabama and an MA in Music Performance from Ithaca College. His favorite things included playing the piano, training in Soo Bahk Do, going to Dauphin Island with his girlfriend and friends, listening to history and science podcasts, and hanging out with his cats while listening to the rain. He was a fiercely loyal friend who was compassionate, caring, generous with his gifts, and a lover of all animals. He loved working with his crew at The Fresh Market and made life fun everywhere he went. He will be terribly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope, AL at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 23. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.stlawrencefairhope.com and on the parish Facebook page. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
