Ira Lamar Bennett, a native of Waycross, GA and resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Wednesday, March, 18, 2015. Mr. Bennett was a US Army Veteran. He graduated from Mainland High School at the Band Shell, Daytona Beach, FL, in 1949. He retired from Chevron Refinery in Pascagoula, MS as a Lab Technician. Mr. Bennett is survived by Elizabeth Bennett of Mobile, AL; his son, Greg Bennett of Theodore, AL; his daughter, Vicki Fisher of Mobile, AL; one grandson, C.J. Estes, and one granddaughter, Sarah Estes, both of Mobile, AL; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Estes and Hannah Estes; three sisters, Posy Harmon, Lillian Watson and Delores Pyles, all of Daytona Beach, FL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
