Jackie Allen "Jack" Glidewell, age 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 30, 2026. While his family mourns his passing, they rejoice in the assurance that he is now healed, at peace, and in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served.

Jack was born on January 15, 1947, to Allen and Alleen Glidewell. He was a proud graduate of LaMonte High School and continued his education at William Jewell College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in History. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and honored his country endlessly. Jack was the owner of SERVPRO of Baldwin County, where he built a respected business through hard work, honesty, and a commitment to serving others.

Jack will be remembered as a sweet, humble man whose deep faith in God, gentle spirit, and dry sense of humor endeared him to everyone who knew him. He lived a life of integrity, loved his family wholeheartedly, and quietly reflected Christ in the way he treated others. His kindness, wisdom, and strong character left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Above all else, he loved his family, who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Vickie Dawson; and his beloved grandson, Mason Watkins. Jack is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 40 years, Kay Glidewell; his daughters, Taryn Glidewell and Cristyn (Jeromy) Watkins; his stepchildren, Keene Hammond and Courtney (Riaan) du Plessis; his brother, Roger Glidewell and sister-in-law, Kathi Glidewell; his grandchildren, Miles Watkins, Madalynn Watkins, and Macy Watkins; his step-grandchildren, Cassidy Hammond, Austin Hammond, and Sophia Hammond; along with extended family and many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, August 5, at Elberta Church, 12891 Main Street, Elberta, Alabama. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. on Wednesday, August 5, at Elberta Church. Fellowship and a meal will be held after the funeral service at Elberta Church.
