James Robert Davis, a native of Tuscaloosa, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the age of 81. He was a member of Oak Park Church of God; enjoyed fishing and collecting antiques and was an avid Alabama Football fan. He was a former employee of Coca Cola Bottling Company and Smith-Klein. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Atherns Davis and Bessie Irene Townley Davis; and his brother, Roscoe Davis. His survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Goodloe Davis; three sons, Robert Alan (Cindy) Davis, Darrell Dewayne (Diane) Davis and James Vincent (Dan Huggins) Davis; two sisters, Patricia Davis Bates and Jeanette Davis (Ronnie) James; four brothers, Edward Davis, Jerry Davis, Larry (Alice) Davis and Charles Davis; six grandchildren, Melissa Davis (Joe) Chiniche, Jessica Davis, Joshua (Ashley) Davis, Jonathan (Lisa) Davis, Richard (Natasha) Welch and Joshua Huggins; eight great-grandchildren, Zoe, Maggie, Averie, Adrianna, Morgan, Taylor, Sophie and Nevaeh; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
