James Hal Fleming, Sr was born April 14, 1960 to Robert L. Fleming, Sr and Anne Dyas Fleming in Mobile, AL. Hal passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Hal was a 1978 graduate of Murphy High School and attended the University of North Alabama on a football scholarship. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid football fan, especially the Auburn Tigers. Hal had lengthy careers at both Evonik and Mobile Pulley.

Hal is survived by his daughter Peggy Fleming Browne (Chris) and his son James Hal Fleming, Jr. (Samantha), his siblings Robert L. Fleming, Jr. (Leigh Anne), Nancy Fleming Sims (John), Ginger Fleming Schroder (Mark) and John Patrick Fleming, along with 15 grandchildren, B. Lane Browne, Caroline B. Cook (Paul), Carson Browne, Shepherd Browne, Van Browne (deceased), Brooks Browne, Dyas Browne, Baylor Browne, JoyAnna Browne, Virginia Browne, M. Camille Browne, Georgia Browne, Charlotte Browne, Jackson Fleming, Sophia Fleming and one great grandchild Christopher Cook. He is also survived by the mother of his children Mary Gay Hunt and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hal was preceded in death by his parents Robert L. Fleming, Sr and Anne Dyas Fleming, a brother William E. Fleming, a grandson Van Browne, and brother in law Mark Schroder.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
