James Edward Greene Sr.

August 17, 1950 - August 13, 2026

James Edward Greene Sr., beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend, passed away on August 13, 2026, just days before his 76th birthday.

Ed was a graduate of Vigor High School and the University of South Alabama and also attended Auburn University. Throughout his life, he remained a devoted Auburn fan, always enjoying the opportunity to cheer on the Tigers.

Above all else, Ed loved the Lord and his family. His faith was an important part of his life, and his greatest joy came from the time he spent with those he loved. He was a devoted father to his three sons, Bill, Jamie, and Mac Greene, and a proud grandfather.

Ed is survived by his sons, Bill Greene and his wife, Jackie, and their son, Finn; Jamie Greene; and Mac Greene and his wife, Erin, and their sons, Mac and Van.

Ed also had a lifelong love of fishing. Whether he was spending time on the water, watching Auburn sports, or simply being surrounded by his family, he appreciated the things in life that brought him happiness and brought the people he loved together. Ed loved nothing more than to devote his time and energy later in life to his church, Chickasaw United Methodist.

He will be remembered for his devotion to his faith, his love for his family, and the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will live on through his sons and grandchildren and through the values, stories, and traditions he passed down to them.

War Eagle, Ed. You will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered.
