James Benny Hughes

James B. Hughes, age 75, passed away in Mobile, AL on February 8, 2026.

Mr. Hughes was a dedicated emergency room nurse throughout his career and retired as the ER Director of Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital in Houston, TX. After retirement, he enjoyed wood working, building and flying model airplanes, and spending time with his pets and family.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ruth Hughes, and his grandson, William X. Rice.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years, Cynthia Hughes; daughter, Lisa (Michael) Rice and their son, Cody James Rice; step-daughter, Amy (Jeremy) Wallace and their children, Olivia (Lauren) Patterson-Wallace and Will Wallace; other relatives and many friends.
