Mr. James Rudolph Jenkins, age 82, a native of Fairford, Alabama, longtime resident of Mt. Vernon, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home in Satsuma surrounded by his family on July 30, 2024. Mr. Jenkins honorably served in the United States Army and was a member of the Saraland VFW Post 7320. Rudolph dedicated many years of his life to the Chemical Industry at Ciba Geigy, where he earned a successful career as Foreman until his retirement. Rudolph took great pride in being a good provider. In addition to his work, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR, and was an avid Alabama football fan. But most of all, Rudolph was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Sheila. He found joy in family get-togethers, savoring good food, and making frequent visits to the Barnyard Buffet. To know Rudolph was to love him and he will be missed by many.
Rudolph was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Millie Jenkins; son, James Richard Jenkins; siblings, Michael Jenkins, Lincoln Jenkins, Tuman Jenkins, Quincy DellaBelle Howell, Edna Joyce Jones, Howard "Buddy" Jenkins, Elsie Saksa, and Maurice Nichols; and fur baby, Lady.
Those left to cherish his memory is his beloved daughter, Sheila Jenkins (Kem); sister, Tommie Sue Turner; best friend, Jimmy Norred; lifelong friend, Faye Tindle Jenkins Dungan; and special neighbors, Richard and Lynn Thomas.
The family will receive friends from 11am until the 12pm funeral service on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Liberty Baptist Church, at 5257 Fairford Road, McIntosh, AL. 36553, with Rev. Gary Pickard and Rev. Tim Sullivan officiating. Graveside services and burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
