James Berry Rhodes

James B. Rhodes, age 78, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, hard work, and cherished memories with those closest to him.

Born on December 4, 1947, in Mobile, Alabama, James was the beloved son of James M. Rhodes and Lizzie Grimmer Rhodes. He grew up with strong family values that shaped the steady, dependable, and kindhearted man so many knew and loved.

James dedicated 20 years of loyal service to Kimberly-Clark, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of coworkers through his strong work ethic and quiet determination. Outside of work, he found joy tinkering with and admiring old cars - a hobby that brought him peace and many happy hours spent restoring pieces of the past.

More than anything, James treasured his family. He is lovingly remembered by his son, James A. Rhodes (Cheryl); Stephanie Conklin; Melinda Hovell (Mike); Thomas Downey (Tammy); and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought endless pride and happiness to his life.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James M. Rhodes and Lizzie Grimmer Rhodes; his wife, Lena Rhodes; and his sister, Kathrine Norman.

His steady presence, gentle humor, and caring heart will be deeply missed, but the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever.
