James Shepherd

James E. Shepherd, age 75, of Semmes, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019, at his home.

James was a native of Mobile and worked at Wigley and Culp for 30 years. He served honorably in the United States Army Reserves. James was a diehard Alabama fan and a NASCAR enthusiast. Above all else, his greatest joy and love was his family.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandi M. Strickland.

Survivors include his wife, Lenda Shepherd; son, Chad (Dana) Shepherd; son-in-law, Dale Strickland; grandchildren, Courtney (Jake) Turberville, Victoria Shepherd, Austin Shepherd, Landen Strickland, and Karlyn Strickland; sisters, Sybil (James) Ziegler and Carolyn (Bobby) Miller; and brother, Keith (Carolyn) Shepherd.

Pallbearers will be Austin Shepherd, Landen Strickland, Brian Shepherd, Eddie Patrick, Dwayne Whittington, and Jake Turberville.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, April 11, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Mr. Archie Allred officiating. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
