James Darrell Wilkerson, age 48, a resident of Mobile, Alabama was born on June 19, 1978, growing up in Thomasville, Alabama. He passed away on July 3, 2026.

Darrell worked at Kimberly-Clark paper mill, where he was known for his dedication and hard work. He found joy in life's simple pleasures-traveling with his wife and children, fishing, and spending time in his workshop. His kindness, humor, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his mother Gloria Mayton Wilkerson and grandmother Grace Wilkerson.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife Gwen Fortune Wilkerson; his son, Hayden Wilkerson; his daughter, Kira Wilkerson (Aaron) Lewandowski; his father, Doug Wilkerson; and his brothers, Scott (Ally) Wilkerson and Patrick Wilkerson. He is also remembered fondly by many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on July 8, 2026 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
