Janette "Jan" Marie Thompson Ladnier, 66, went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
She was born on January 25, 1960, in Ellisville, Mississippi, to Robert "Holmes" Knight and Billie Ruth Witt. Jan graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1978 and went on to work at Huntington Ingalls, where she was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication.
Jan was a devoted Christian and faithfully attended Bethel Assembly of God under the leadership of Pastors Joseph "Joe" and Donna Spence. She was an avid reader of Scripture and lived her life grounded in faith. Jan raised her children to follow the Lord and exemplified Christ's love through her words, actions, and unwavering devotion to family.
Jan was first married to Claude Matthew Thompson Jr., with whom she shared a loving marriage and was blessed with five children: Joshua, Garrett, Sean, Dana, and Angela. After Claude's passing, she later married Aubrey James Ladnier Jr., and together they welcomed their son, Austin. Both marriages were meaningful chapters of Jan's life.
Above all else, Jan cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Her love for her family was deep and unconditional, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, guidance, and peace to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert "Holmes" Knight and Billie Ruth Witt; her sister, Anita "Kay" Hinton; and her husbands, Claude Matthew Thompson Jr. and Aubrey James Ladnier Jr.
She is survived by her six children: Joshua Thompson (Amanda), Garrett Thompson (Amity), Sean Thompson (Jennifer), Dana Gessner (Edward), Angela Lawless (Chad), and Austin Ladnier (Courtney); thirteen grandchildren: Aaron, Jenny, Leticia, Destiny, Ethan, Kaylee, Kyleigh, Tyler, Lily, Luke, Harper, Levi, and Nash; and one great-grandchild, Cohen.
