Janice Shirley Keyes

September 3, 1942 — April 1, 2026

Janice Shirley Keyes, 83, of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Jan was born on September 3, 1942, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to the late Calvin and Helen Ruth Shirley. She graduated from Baton Rouge High School and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University, where she met the love of her life, Ed Keyes.

They were married on June 9, 1962, and shared nearly 60 years of marriage together. Jan devoted her life to serving the Lord alongside her husband. She was a consummate hostess, a faithful soprano in the choir, and brought joy and personality to every church production-often embracing her role as the "drama queen" with enthusiasm. She managed the choir loft with precision, always knowing exactly how many chairs were needed and thoughtfully arranging each person by voice and height.

She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and supporting them in every way she could.

Jan is survived by her children, David Keyes (Ellen) and Marci Shirley (Derrick); her grandchildren, Jordan Keyes (Heather), Jackson Keyes (Emma), Braden Keyes (Stacey), Noah Keyes (Kurstin), Eli Shirley, Isaiah Shirley, Carmen Price (Caden), Jesse Shirley, Ciera Shirley, and Samuel Shirley; nine great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Buddy Shirley (Carol) and John Shirley (Debbie).

A viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at 10:00 a.m. on April 9, 2026, at Luke 4:18 Fellowship in Mobile, Alabama.

Jan was a true Proverbs 31 woman, and we, her family and friends, rise and call her blessed.
