It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Jerry Livings, a devoted family man, esteemed veteran, and respected member of the community. Jerry was born on August 24, 1947, in Andalusia, Alabama, and he departed this life peacefully on August 21, 2026, just three days shy of his 79th birthday.
A Veteran of the United States Army, Jerry served his country with honor and distinction, embodying the values of duty, courage, and sacrifice. His service was a source of immense pride as he was a part of the "Sky Soldiers", 173rd Mobile Brigade Combat Airborne Team.
As a graduate of the University of Alabama, Jerry embodied the traditional Alabama motto, "Where Legends are Made." Jerry lived a life dedicated to his family and his work. He was well respected in the community, and he was known for helping others, especially children. He loved sports, the outdoors, and spending quality time with his family. As a General Manager at Ward International, he exemplified hard work, integrity, and leadership, qualities that earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. His legacy will forever echo in the lives he touched.
Jerry is deeply mourned and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Charlotte Jones; beloved sons, Chris Livings (Patty) and Josh Livings (Tiffany); adored grandchildren, Collins Livings, Cooper Livings and Jordan Taylor Livings; brother, Sammy Livings; nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. Their lives are a testament to the love and kindness Jerry consistently shared, creating cherished memories that will endure through the years.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Erlene Livings; seven siblings; and his son, Jeremy Livings.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jerry's remarkable life during a graveside service at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama on August 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The Patriot Guard Riders of Alabama will escort and show respect to Jerry to his final resting place. Active pallbearers will be Chris Gautreaux, Wendall Salley, Kendall Salley, Chris Livings, Josh Livings and John Vellianitis. The ceremony will be a time to reflect on cherished memories and honor the legacy of a man who lived life to the fullest, surrounded by love and laughter.
