Jessie Highsmith

Jessie Willard Highsmith, a 92-year-old native of Mobile and resident of Saraland passed away Friday, November 8. 2024 at his home in Saraland.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who spent 50 years of his life raising his children. He was employed by International Paper for 43 years and was also a Veteran of the Navy Reserve with 32 years of service. Mr. Highsmith was a member of Snow Road Missionary Baptist Church. He has gone to join his wife of 60 years, Margaret Jean Highsmith. He is survived by 6 children Margaret Reid Highsmith, Jessie David Highsmith (Wendy), Tina Highsmith, Greg Highsmith, Jennifer Highsmith, and Vander Highsmith (Daphne); six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 1 PM for visitation and then funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12,2024.
