A native and life-long resident of Mobile, Alabama, Jimmie was born on August 30, 1944, and at the age of 80, he died on August 9, 2025, after a two-year battle with cancer.
He was proceeded in death by the love of his life, Carlita Balzi Hendricks, after 58 years of marriage. Also proceeded by his parents, Betty Henson and William J. Hendricks, Sr., and siblings: Mary Elizabeth Hendricks, Betty Jo Donoghue, and William J. Hendricks, Jr. He is survived by his three girls: Jamie H. St. John (Todd), Terrie H. Joyner (Shannon), and Julie H. Dismukes (Joe), and his beloved dog, Cocoa Henry. He was a dedicated Pappy to Curtis Joyner, Justice Dismukes, Kersten Meadows (Chandler), Jayli Dismukes (Barrett Riemer), Julia Lauren St. John, and great-grandfather to Harrison Meadows and Kinsley Meadows (due in November).
Special thanks to his neighbors, Kathleen and Mike Crenshaw, for taking him under their wing after the passing of our precious Mama three years ago.
Jimmie retired from Mobile Electric Garage as co-owner after 35 years of dedication at the age of 54. He was an honorary member of the Mystic Stripers Society after 21 years of active membership.
Anyone that knew him also knew he was a man of many talents who was always willing to help family, friends, and neighbors. It seemed there was nothing he couldn't fix. He enjoyed cooking out and spending time with his family. He was well known for being the life of the party, joking and acting a little crazy pretty much his entire life. He is once again joined with his beloved dancing partner for eternity. Both are missed beyond measure.
