Jolie Becker

December 6, 1963 — August 17, 2023

Jolie Jannette Ellington Becker, age 59, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 17, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her selflessness, bubbly personality, and beautiful radiant smile.

Jolie was born on December 6, 1963 in Mobile, AL where she was a lifelong resident. She graduated in 1982 from Theodore High School where she met some of her best friends. During her years in high school, she was a cheerleader and a yellow AzaleaTrail Maid. Jolie then continued her education at the University of South Alabama where she was a member of the AOII sorority and met her husband, Tim. She graduated in 1987 and earned her accounting degree and CPA certification in 1989. She was an excellent coworker and a CPA for 30 years.

Jolie was simply the best! She was a loyal wife, daughter, sister, mother, and friend. Jolie was sweet, caring, and so much fun to be around. She would drop everything she was doing to help anyone because that was the type of person she was. She loved being outdoors and knew more about baseball than anyone around her. Outdoor sporting events were her favorite, and especially if her children were playing or her husband was coaching. She loved chewing bubble gum and cheering as loud as she could, and she was always making sure she was heard. She never missed a sport or school function even while working full time. She was a very supportive and loving mother to Brittany and Dalton, and she considered Emory and Caroline to be one of her own. Her absolute greatest joy was becoming a Gigi to Baby Emory and Virginia.

Jolie was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall Guy Ellington and Virginia Rice Ellington and her brother, Jody Lynn Ellington.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Timothy Lee Becker, two children, Brittany Becker Jones (Emory) and Dalton Timothy Becker (Caroline), her grandson, Emory Jackson Jones IV, granddaughter, Virginia Lee Jones, and Cousin, Molly Taylor (Mike).

She battled Alzheimer's disease for the past eight plus years with a smile on her face. She was incredibly brave as she fought such a terrible disease; therefore, it is no surprise that she pushed through for many years all while maintaining her feisty and strong personality.

The Becker Family would like to express sincere appreciation to Rockers Helping Hand Home Health Service. The family will always be forever grateful for Gloria, Courtney, Barbara, and Marcia for loving and taking such amazing care of Jolie. Also, Springhill Hospice for the last 8 months of hospice care. Lastly, her primary physician, Dr. Pearsall for always listening to her concerns and being more like a friend.
