Juanita Wiseman

June 3, 1925 — August 10, 2021

Juanita McNellage Wiseman passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 10, at Brookside Memory Care. A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, she was born June 3, 1925 to Walter and Emily McNellage. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Melvin Barnett Wiseman, Sr., her parents and her brother, Walter McNellage, Jr. Juanita is survived by her three children, Linda Roach, Barry Wiseman, (Cindy) and Julie Rentz (Irvin) of Mobile, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Known as 'Nita' to her family and many friends, and 'Nana" to her grandchildren, Juanita devoted herself to the happiness and wellbeing of those she loved. She was a constant source of support, whether working in the family business or dispensing wise counsel from her well-known kitchen table. She was a devout Episcopalian who loved reading and gardening. She was an avid bridge player who enjoyed every minute with her bridge group and was a fair golfer back in the day.

In her later years, she found her greatest joy in her home, her family and friends, and her beloved pets. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family is forever grateful to her in-home caretakers, Brookside and St. Joseph Hospice for their end- of-life care.

A private family graveside service will be held at Magnolia Cemetery in Mobile, AL.
