Julia Randall Vaughan, a native of South Bend, Indiana but longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the age of 90. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and retired from the Mobile Police Department after 29 years of service. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 70 years, James Reginald Vaughan, Jr. and her parents, Edgar and Julia Randall. She was also predeceased by her brother Edgar Randall, sister Patricia Hupp and daughter Tracey Vaughan Gibson. Her survivors include two daughters, Karen Nichols and Christine (Bill) Cane; 6 grandchildren, Erol (Terri Lynn), Michael, Anthony, Lauren (James), Josh (Danielle) and Rachel (Peter); and 10 great grandchildren; cousins; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Mobile Infirmary and The Retreat at Saad’s for their excellent care and family support.
